Cookies and local storage are different

Cookies are small values that a browser may send with requests to a website. Local storage keeps values in the browser for scripts from that website to read. Similar rules can apply to both technologies even though their technical behaviour differs.

This website’s own preference tool uses local storage, not a cookie. It does not store an email address, player profile or enquiry draft. The mobile menu and scroll-reveal effects use temporary page state and do not need persistent storage.

What the preference record contains

Storage used by this resource
NamePurposeDuration
summitcloudyorchrd-cookie-preferenceStores “accepted” or “essential” after you choose a preferenceUntil you clear it, your browser removes it or this site’s storage is reset

The record is limited to this browser and site origin. It does not automatically follow you to another device or browser. Private browsing and browser restrictions may prevent it from persisting. If storage is blocked, the controls explain that the choice could not be saved.

Changing your mind

Return here to choose again or clear the saved value. You can also remove site data in your browser settings. Clearing a preference is different from deleting an email you have separately sent to us or a text file you have downloaded to your own device.

No embedded third-party services

Page images, styles and scripts are loaded from this site. External organisations are linked rather than embedded. Following a link may expose you to that organisation’s cookies and privacy practices; review its information separately.

Future changes and contact

If optional services are introduced, they must be explained and any required consent obtained before activation. A stored choice on this page does not itself authorise new, unspecified purposes. For personal information and your rights, read Privacy. For questions, email [email protected].
